A message from Superintendent O'Leary
On behalf of the Vandalia-Butler City Schools Board of Education, the administrative team, and the entire staff, I extend our sincere appreciation for your support in helping us provide an excellent educational experience for the students of this great community. As I look ahead to the 2017-2018 school year and begin the Superintendency in this esteemed district where I’ve spent 13 of my 18 years in the field of education, I reflect on the great successes from the 2016-2017 school year; two of our buildings, Helke and Morton, were recognized by the State of Ohio for their efforts in building positive learning environments for our students; our student-athletes achieved great athletic accomplishments, just missing a second straight year of winning the All-Sports Trophy in the distinguished GWOC North Division; the graduating class of 2017 acquired $6,508,801.00 worth of post-secondary scholarships. Of course, these great achievements and opportunities would not be possible without the incredible support and partnership we have with the Vandalia-Butler community.
As we look forward to 2017-2018, we are excited to begin the implementation of the strategic plan that the community steered. This plan will be our guide over the next four years. The goals of this plan, as outlined on the following page, will guide us in our work to continue to provide an excellent education for our students. The Vandalia-Butler community is well known for being true partners with its beloved schools, and on behalf of the board, administration, and staff, we pledge to be fiscally responsible and true partners with the Vandalia-Butler community.
